History
Livingston Fire
Protection, Inc., a Maryland company since 1964 is in the business of the
complete design, fabrication, installation, inspection, maintenance and
service of automatic fire protection sprinkler systems.
We are licensed to work
in Maryland, Virginia, Louisiana and California where sprinkler contractor
licensing is required. The District of Columbia and the states of Delaware,
Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Texas, where contractor licensing is not the
law, are also locations for vast numbers of Livingston projects.
International activity has taken place in Paris, France, Bonn Germany, San
Salvador, El Salvador and Moscow.
Livingston’s projects are
varied and diverse. Residential systems are being installed by the thousands
in single-family homes, townhouses and garden apartments. Commercial
installations range from high-rise apartment buildings and offices to
hospitals, warehouses, retail operations and sports and entertainment
facilities. Livingston employees have installed systems in such unusual and
challenging venues as the Filene Center at Wolf Trap Farm Park (VA),
numerous United States and foreign embassies, the Pentagon, the US Capital,
the White House, and the Presidential guest quarters in Washington, D.C.,
known as the Blair House, to name but a few. The company has consistently
been selected to retrofit occupied office and residential buildings, as well
as buildings with rare and valuable historic significance. Completing such
projects successfully while respecting and protecting contents of extreme
value as well as rare architecture is a tribute to the quality of Livingston
personnel, and is a great source of pride to the company.
The Livingston companies
have performed more then 8,000 projects. Our
operation is housed in a 33,500 square foot office, warehouse and
fabrication plant in Hyattsville, Maryland. The office area consists of
sales and estimating departments, a state of the art design department, the
corporation’s accounting operation, the office of the human resource officer
and the office of the CEO of Livingston Fire Protection, Inc. These offices
serve the Residential, Commercial, Small Contracts and Inspection and
Maintenance Divisions of the company. There is also a Livingston office
located in the Baltimore, Maryland area as well.
Services & Experience
The company service
departments are poised to respond to the needs of our customers on a 24-hour
basis. Service vehicles are equipped to handle most emergency needs, are
radio dispatched and are staffed with expertly trained personnel.
Our field forces are
trained through a federal and state approved apprenticeship program
requiring four years of continuous training. Fitter training, beyond the
initial apprenticeship program, is conducted on a regular basis in order
that our field installation personnel are kept up to date on all new
technology and products developed for use by our industry.
The members of the
management and executive staff of our firm are consistently in touch with
new methods and technology that serves to benefit our industry and our
customers. These individuals, together with various support staff personnel,
are also regularly engaged in additional education designed to improve
skills in all areas of the company and project management. In addition,
during the entire history of our company, management has served the industry
tirelessly by participation on the National Fire Protection Association’s
standards development committees, industry development committees, college
curriculum boards, and industry and contractor associations.
Livingston Fire
Protection is truly a family organization. All 100 plus employees of the
firm are considered very important members of the Livingston Fire Protection
family. We work together for the benefit of our own families as well as the
occupants of the properties that we are privileged to protect. We all know
that fire sprinkler systems are the most effective means of protecting lives
and property and we take a great deal of pride in the fact that what we do
every day is a positive contribution to the society in which we live.
