Mr. Livingston (Jay) is
the founder of Livingston Fire Protection, Inc. and presently serves as
President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Livingston has served the fire
protection industry for more then 45 years in a variety of areas. His early
service included activity as a volunteer fire fighter, fire alarm dispatcher
and fire inspector during his college years (Georgia Institute of Technology
and the University
of Maryland). He next
served as the Fire Protection Engineer for Marriott Corporation and remained
in that capacity until starting his own company in l964. Mr. Livingston’s
knowledge and background in the sprinkler industry is so extensive that he is
regularly asked to serve on or chair committees of the National and American
Fire Sprinkler Associations, and numerous standard committees of the National
Fire Protection Association. He has also served on the steering committee for
Operation Life Safety for the International Association of Fire Chiefs, and
on the Board of Directors of the Fire Protection Contractors Development
Corporation. Mr. Livingston was appointed by Governor William Donald Schaefer
to serve on the Maryland Fire Commission and was selected to head the
commission for the majority of his time of service.
Mr. Kozel holds a
bachelor’s degree from the University
of Delaware and Fire Protection
certifications from Oklahoma State University
and Montgomery College. Employed by Livingston Fire
Protection, Inc. for over 20 years, he presently serves the company in the
capacity of Executive Vice President. His experience with the company has
included stints in field installation, design, estimating, sales and project
management. Mr. Kozel remains active with numerous industry associations including
the National Fire Sprinkler Association and the Association of Builders and
Contractors.
